If you’re looking for a free no obligation quotation on any decking cleaning, then give Moss Boss a call

We offer Decking Treatments and Protection Services

Moss Boss has over 12 years’ experience in professional cleaning from windows and now roofs and so much more, we also offer wood decking cleaning and decking restoration services. Based in Scunthorpe we cover a 60-mile radius for a number of services.

Have you had you wood or plastic decking for a number of years? Have you been using a jet wash year after year to clean your decking, well the direct contact with high water pressure will likely fray the wood or mark the plastic? As a result, there will be pressure marks left on the surface. Our soft wash method will ensure that just the right amount of pressure is applied to give you an even clean throughout your decking.

When it comes to the restoration, you’ve probably treated your decking with stain, it’s likely that you will be calling us to remove a failed product that has lasted less than nine months. If so, your decking will need to be coated with a specialised stain remover rather than a shop bought remover. This will help break down the stain product before the cleaning process begins. The area may need to be coated and cleaned two or three times to remove all the old stain before the cleaning and restoring can happen.

Make sure you get a professional in to sort the job out, pay more once rather than less more often. We can also replace any damaged or rotten planks for you. We will source the correct decking style, take up the old plank/s and secure the new one/s down.

Our decking cleaning service includes restoring handrails/balustrades, facia panels, fences, trellises and garden furniture.

When treating your decking we always recommend an oil rather than a stain. Decking stains often become flaky and patchy within 6-12 months whereas an oil feeds the wood. In brief, we believe that decking stains are not fit for purpose.

Once your decking is completely dry and likely to remain dry for the near future, the oiling process can begin. The decking oil is applied using soft paint brushes. As a result, all the grooves are adequately covered. So, we always treat decking with two coats of oil to give an even quality finish. This also nourishes the wood and protects it from rot and decay.

People and furniture should be kept off the decking for at least four hours after the oil/ protector is applied.
